The Wunder Audio PEQ4R Mic Pre/EQ is the 19″ rack mount version of the new PEQ4. It has a conductive plastic logarithmic taper output level potentiometer, which acts as an output fader, a 48V phantom power switch and a quarter inch instrument input jack. We’ve taken the PEQ2R and added another mid band!

Introducing the new PEQ4R. Our 4-band Mic-Pre/EQ, with selectable narrow or wide Q, allows you to enhance (boost) and/or minimize (cut) a larger number of selected frequencies. Designed in 2019 for Roger Waters’ 48-channel Wunderbar, the PEQ4 has 4 bands: low, low-mid, high-mid, and high. Refined boost and cut amplifiers give better resolution to the boost and cut compared to the PEQ2. New custom-made aluminum gun-metal gray knobs give the module a cool vibe. This new module also boasts silent switching push-buttons. The push-buttons activate a relay so no audio passes through them, making them functionally quiet. The new PEQ4 includes our custom transformers, which give it that thick Wunder Audio sound. While it doesn’t replace the PEQ2, the PEQ4 maintains what we love about the PEQ2, and includes some extras designed for those who desire a bit more control over the EQ.

Tried and true, the Wunder Audio PEQ2 Mic-Pre/EQ is a fully Class-A discrete 1970’s-style mic-pre/equalizer. It can directly replace the 1073. The 18-way gold plated Amphenol connector will mate with vintage Neve “80 Series” consoles or racks. The similarity to the 1073 stops there! With its Western Electric style transformers and long list of features, the Wunder Audio PEQ2 can go head to head with anything on the market, old or new.

The inside of these discrete Class A build-quality modules is pristine, with meticulous wiring and impeccable soldering. Top-of-the-line components are used at every junction.

The Wunder Audio Allotrope EQ is a classic inductor-based Baxandall equalizer with has the same EQ circuit as the Wunder Audio PEQ2. All aspects of this design from the metalwork to the components in the circuit are made to the same exacting standards as the PEQ2 simply remade for the 500 series format.

Wunder Audio Cobalt Pre –
The Wunder Audio Cobalt Mic Pre is the result of years of testing, development, and enhancements made by Wunder Audio in Austin, TX with the PEQ1 and PEQ2. The inside of these discrete Class A build-quality modules is pristine, with meticulous wiring and impeccable soldering. Top-of-the-line components are used at every junction, highlighted by our own custom wound transformers. The transformers are made using the same custom laminations of Nickel/Iron/Cobalt that were used in the original Zeppelin “Allotrope” modules; which inspired the original Wunder Audio PEQ1. The transformers are so beefy that they barely fit in the unit’s case.

The Wunder Audio Cobalt Pre has the same circuit, input transformer, and output transformer as the Wunder Audio PEQ2. All aspects of this design, from the metalwork to the components in the circuit, are made to the same exact standards as the PEQ2 but remade for the 500 series format.

The Wunder Audio CM50 FET Suprema microphone is the solid-state version of the CM50 Suprema. It comes with the very same spherical capsule as employed in the successful CM50 Tube Mic.

The Wunder Audio CM50 FET S has an incredible lineage; its predecessor, the CM50 FET, has been used worldwide in Decca trees for recording the soundtracks for many of the major motion pictures produced today. The CM50 FET version is widely used by scoring engineer Shawn Murphy and Tom Steel among others at most of the sound stages in Los Angeles including; the Newman Scoring Stage 20th Century Fox, Sony Scoring Stage, Culver City and other top scoring stages worldwide including Abbey road! Main left-right usage of the CM50 FET include; Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, the Hobbit film series, Harry Potter and Marvel films.

The new CM50 FET Suprema is one step up from this already perfect mic. The CM50 FET S is the best available microphone for orchestral recordings because it has a response that rises slightly and it becomes increasingly more directional at higher frequencies when exposed to direct sound, but it remains flat in a diffused sound field. In addition to being the perfect microphone for soundtrack recordings, the CM50 FET Suprema is definitely an important mic when recording drums and capturing the room sound, giving the instrument volume and depth. Once you try this out on drums, you will never want to record without it, as the drums sound flat without the CM50 FET Suprema. “Simply one of the most wonderful sounding room mics in the world. Capsule
The CM49 JFET S Suprema uses the same capsule as the CM7 Suprema, and yet because of the completely different housing and the triode electronics, there are few similarities in the sound of these microphones. Both mics are superb vocal mics, though neither was designed for the purpose of close-miking, the CM49 JFET S and CM7 S really shines when placed close up with a loud source and creates a very desirable proximity effect. We recognize that sound, and we love it!

The Wunder Audio CM7 FET Suprema microphone is a phantom powered version of the CM7. The original goal with a phantom powered mic was to bypass the need for a tube PSU. One shortcoming of some FET mics, was that the design technology of the 1960’s FET transistor was in its infancy and the end result was not always desirable.

The Wunder Audio CM7 FET Suprema has improved this design with a modern upgrade that employs an ultra-low noise single n-channel transistor with JFET technology coupled with a Neve 1073 style mic pre-transformer. The results are stunning and the performance of this mic greatly surpasses the original, yielding better low-lows and highs. This a workhorse studio mic for all sources, especially vocals, making it reminiscent of a 1970’s era U87!
